The Origin Story
In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 lockdown, I picked up a palette knife for the very first time. Armed with zero formal art training, a laptop full of online tutorials, and boxes of acrylic paint arriving on my doorstep, I began experimenting. No rules, no pressure—just thick, bold color pushed across canvas.
The Evolution
What began as a lockdown distraction quickly turned into a passion. My early pieces captured the innocence and nostalgia of post-WWII American life—vintage hi-top sneakers, classic lawn chairs, and mid-century relics that sparked happy memories during a quiet time.
Over the years, that impulse has evolved into a distinct style defined by heavy impasto texture, clean geometric backdrops, and a signature blend of vintage charm and Western spirit. Today, my subjects range from classic American icons to dapper wildlife portraiture—antlered, horned, and all dressed up with a nod to traditional heritage and a touch of modern whimsy.
The Vision
Whether I’m painting an imposing elk or a timeless piece of Western gear, I’m drawn to the contrast of thick, expressive knife work set against sharp, structured design. I hope my work evokes a sense of story, a sentimental smile, and a fresh appreciation for the legendary characters of the West.
